The Kitchen Gadget I Can’t Live Without

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what’s the one thing you’d wish for? Some people might say a boat or a lifetime supply of food. But my answer is a bit different—because the one item I can’t live without is my Citrus Juicer by Chef’n. I’m serious; I use this gadget for almost everything.

Adding fresh citrus to your meals is a fantastic way to brighten and balance your food. And we all love a little citrus in our cocktails and baked goods. As an added bonus, lemons, limes and oranges also happen to be good for you. They’re packed with vitamin C and help cleanse and detoxify your body.

If you were to pick up this handy gadget, you’d probably use it every day, too. Here are just a few (more) reasons why:

6 Ways to Use a Citrus Juicer

  1. Morning Lemon Water: Start your day off right with morning lemon water. It cleanses your body after a night’s rest and aids in digestion.

  2. Salad Dressings: Top your favorite salads with fresh, unique dressings, like Orange-Ginger and Honey-Lime. You can even incorporate the zest to achieve a sharper result.

  3. Homemade Marinades: Zesty marinades infuse flavor into your favorite grilled foods, so make your own for your next big barbecue.

  4. Southern Iced Tea: The perfect summer drink, I love to brew citrus-infused teas because they’re so refreshing. Plus, they don’t contain a ton of added sugar when made at home.

  5. Fresh Cocktails: Homemade margaritas are one of my favorites, but there are actually a lot of cocktails that incorporate fresh juice. (Think: Daiquiris, Mimosas and Rum Punch!)

  6. Pasta Sauces: Tomato-based sauces aren’t the only way to go on Spaghetti Night. A simple lemon-butter sauce with fresh herbs is a nice alternative, especially in the summer months.

Need a plan for dinner tonight? Break out your citrus juicer and try my Almond Lemon Chicken Salad . Pair it with a Skinny Margarita and have yourself a party!
